Invitations
Collaboration invitations let other users share tracks with you directly from their Producer Dashboard. When a producer sends you an invite, it appears as a notification, and you can review the details and accept the collaboration right from within the app.
How Invitations Work
Section titled “How Invitations Work”When someone adds you as a collaborator on a track, Producer Dashboard sends you an invitation. This invite gives you access to the track’s files and lets you contribute based on the permissions the owner granted you.
You don’t need to do anything special to receive invites — they show up automatically when you’re added to a track. The invite includes the track name, who sent it, and when it was sent, so you can decide whether to accept before syncing files to your dashboard.
Viewing Your Pending Invites
Section titled “Viewing Your Pending Invites”When you have pending invitations, you’ll see a notification badge appear in the app’s header. Clicking the notification icon opens the Invitations modal, where all your pending invites are listed.
Each invite card shows:
- Track artwork — the album art for the track being shared, or a placeholder icon if none is set
- Track name — the title of the song or project
- Sent by — the name of the producer who invited you
- Time sent — how long ago the invite was sent (e.g., “5m ago”, “2h ago”, “3d ago”)
If you have invites for multiple tracks, they’ll all appear in the same list, sorted by most recent. You can also filter invites by selecting a specific track in the grid — this narrows the list to only show invites related to that track.
Empty State
Section titled “Empty State”If you have no pending invitations, the modal displays a friendly empty state with a checkmark icon and the message “No pending invites.” This means either no one has invited you yet, or you’ve already accepted or dismissed all incoming invites.
Accepting an Invitation
Section titled “Accepting an Invitation”To accept a collaboration invite:
- Open the notification panel and click on an invite
- Review the track details in the invite card
- Click the Accept button on the invite
The button changes to “Accepting…” while the request processes. Once accepted, the invite disappears from the list with a smooth fade-out animation, and you receive a success toast: “Collaboration accepted — files are syncing.”
Your new collaboration should appear in your tracks grid shortly, depending on how many files are being synced.
What Happens After You Accept
Section titled “What Happens After You Accept”When you accept an invitation, Producer Dashboard:
- Adds the track to your grid — the shared track appears in your dashboard, accessible from any view
- Syncs the files — any audio files, stems, or project files associated with the track begin downloading
- Sets your permissions — your access level matches what the owner assigned (view only, edit, or full control)
You can immediately start working on the track if the owner gave you edit permissions. If you only have view access, you’ll see the track and its files but won’t be able to make changes.
Notification Badge
Section titled “Notification Badge”The notification badge in the header updates automatically whenever your invite status changes. It shows the count of unread or pending invitations. After you accept or review invites, the badge updates to reflect your current status.
Clicking the badge at any time opens the full invitations list so you can catch up on any invites you haven’t seen yet.
- Check invites regularly — if you’re collaborating with multiple producers, new invites can pile up. A quick check each morning ensures you don’t miss anything.
- Accept when ready — there’s no pressure to accept immediately. Take your time to review who’s inviting you and for which track before you commit.
- Filter by track — if you’re working on a specific project and want to see only related invites, select that track first. This filters the invitations list to match.
- File sync may take time — large projects with many stems or high-resolution audio files can take a while to fully sync. Look for a loading indicator in the tracks grid while files are downloading.
