Pricing Your Beats

When you’re ready to monetize your beats, the Licensing section in Producer Dashboard gives you everything you need to sell directly to artists. You define your own license types with specific deliverables and pricing, then enable them on individual tracks. When artists purchase, they get automatic file delivery through a secure system.

The licensing system revolves around three interconnected pieces:

License Types are the products you sell — your tiers, bundles, and exclusive deals. These live in your Settings and define what files artists receive and what they pay.

Track Licensing lets you assign specific license types to each beat. You can use your default pricing or override it per-track for maximum flexibility.

Purchase Flow handles the actual transaction. Artists select a license, pay through Stripe, and receive download links automatically. You get paid directly to your connected account.

Before you can sell anything, you’ll need to configure how buyers contact you and connect your payment processor.

In the Licensing section of your Settings, you choose how artists reach you:

  • Stripe Checkout (recommended) — The full purchase happens automatically. Artists buy and download without any manual intervention from you.
  • Email — Buyers see your email address and contact you directly to arrange payment through your own system.
  • External URL — Direct buyers to your beat store or custom ordering page.

Most producers prefer Stripe Checkout since it handles everything automatically. Email and URL options work well if you prefer to vet buyers or use your own custom purchase flow.

To accept payments, connect your Stripe account through the Connected Accounts section in Settings. Click Connect with Stripe and follow the prompts. Stripe Express accounts are the fastest way to get started — no lengthy merchant applications required.

Once connected, you can access your Stripe Express Dashboard anytime to check earnings, manage payouts, and review transactions.

License types define what artists get when they buy from you. Think of them as product tiers — each one can include different files, rights, and pricing.

When creating a license type, you configure:

  • Name — How it appears to buyers (e.g., “Basic Lease,” “Premium Lease,” “Exclusive Rights”)
  • Price — Your asking price in your preferred currency
  • Description — A brief summary buyers see
  • Deliverables — Which files are included (MP3, WAV, Stems, Track-outs)
  • Exclusive vs. Non-Exclusive — Exclusive licenses remove the track from sale after purchase
  • License Terms — The legal agreement buyers accept

To speed things up, Producer Dashboard includes pre-built templates for common license structures:

  • Non-Exclusive Lease — MP3 + WAV, capped streams, budget-friendly
  • Premium Lease — MP3 + WAV + Stems, unlimited streams
  • Exclusive Rights — Full ownership transfer, all files included
  • Sync License — Film/TV/commercial use rights

You can add templates as-is or customize them to match your business model. Any changes you make only affect that specific license type going forward.

Once created, license types appear in a draggable list where you can reorder them. Each license shows its name, deliverables, price, and status. You can edit or delete licenses at any time.

If a license has existing purchases, you can’t delete it — but you can mark it as Inactive to hide it from new buyers while keeping the purchase records intact.

With your license types ready, you can now apply them to your beats.

The marketing widget lets you configure licensing for individual tracks. Open any track and access the widget to:

  1. Toggle Licensing Enabled on
  2. Select which license types should be available
  3. Set individual prices for each license (or use your defaults)
  4. Save your changes

When licensing is enabled, a Buy or License button appears on your public track page, giving artists a direct path to purchase.

You might want to price the same license differently across tracks. Maybe your viral hit deserves a higher exclusive price than your newer releases. Per-track pricing lets you override your default prices without changing your base templates.

When an artist clicks to buy:

  1. They select their preferred license tier
  2. Stripe Checkout handles payment securely
  3. Upon successful payment, your Dropbox generates temporary download links
  4. The artist receives download access for 30 days

You receive 98% of each sale — the platform retains 2% for payment processing and infrastructure.

All files are delivered automatically through your connected Dropbox account. Your original files stay safe while buyers receive temporary links. Download links expire after 30 days, and buyers can return to the purchase page to grab their files again within that window.

Before launching your beat store, make sure you’ve completed:

  • Connected Stripe in the Connected Accounts section
  • Connected Dropbox in your integrations
  • Created at least one license type
  • Assigned licenses to the tracks you want to sell
  • Tested the purchase flow yourself

Once these are done, your public track pages will show buy buttons and you’re ready to start accepting orders.

  • Start with templates — The pre-built license types give you a solid foundation to customize rather than building from scratch.
  • Test the complete flow — Purchase one of your own beats to verify everything works before sending buyers to your store.
  • Organize your Dropbox — Keep your delivery folders tidy by track name and file type for smoother automated delivery.
  • Check Stripe regularly — Monitor your dashboard for new sales and ensure your payout information is up to date.
