Due Dates & Deadlines
Due dates and deadlines help you stay organized by giving every track and project a target completion date. Whether you’re working toward a single release deadline or juggling multiple songs in different stages, setting clear dates keeps your workflow on track.
In Producer Dashboard, you can set deadlines at two levels: at the project or bucket level (which affects all tracks within it), and at the individual track level (which takes priority over the bucket deadline).
Setting a Bucket Deadline
Section titled “Setting a Bucket Deadline”When you set a deadline on a project or bucket, it acts as a target date for the entire group. This is useful when you’re working toward a release date or a client delivery.
To set a bucket deadline, right-click on a project in the sidebar and select Set Bucket Deadline, or use the options menu on the project card. A modal appears with:
- The current deadline (if one exists) and countdown
- A date picker to select your new deadline
- Quick select buttons for 1 week, 1 month, or 3 months
Once you save, the deadline displays on your project. Any tracks added to that bucket without their own due date will automatically inherit the bucket deadline.
Setting an Individual Track Due Date
Section titled “Setting an Individual Track Due Date”Some tracks need more attention than others. A complex mix might need an earlier deadline than your other songs, or a specific revision might be due sooner than the overall project. In these cases, you can set a due date directly on the track.
To set a track due date, click on the track in your grid to open the activity panel. Look for the due date field in the overview widget and click the calendar icon. A modal opens where you can:
- View the current due date and time remaining
- Select a new date using the date picker
- Use quick select buttons for tomorrow, 1 week, or 1 month
- Clear an existing due date
After saving, the due date appears as a chip on the track card and in the overview widget.
How Cascading Works
Section titled “How Cascading Works”When a bucket has a deadline and a track is added without its own due date, the track inherits the bucket deadline automatically. This cascading behavior keeps your projects organized without requiring you to set dates manually for every new track.
Individual track due dates always take priority. If a track has its own due date set, it will not change when you update the bucket deadline. This lets you maintain overall project timelines while giving specific tracks the attention they need.
When you update a bucket deadline, the system automatically cascades the new date to all tracks that lack individual due dates. Tracks with custom dates remain untouched.
Editing and Clearing Dates
Section titled “Editing and Clearing Dates”Both bucket deadlines and track due dates can be updated at any time. Simply open the date picker modal again and select a new date, or use the quick select buttons.
To remove a due date entirely, open the modal and click Clear Deadline or Clear Due Date. A confirmation prompt appears before the date is removed. Once cleared, the track will revert to inheriting the bucket deadline (if one exists).
Viewing Deadlines Across Your Projects
Section titled “Viewing Deadlines Across Your Projects”On the tracks page, deadlines appear in several places to help you spot upcoming targets quickly:
- Track cards show due date badges when set
- The sidebar displays deadline indicators next to project names
- Sorting options let you view tracks by due date, so upcoming deadlines appear first
This visibility helps you prioritize your session time and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
