Collaborators Widget

The Collaborators widget lives in the Activity Panel and gives you a clear view of everyone who owns or contributes to your selected track. You’ll see their names, profile pictures, and how the ownership is divided between master rights and publishing.

Whether you’re working on a solo track or collaborating with a full production team, this widget makes it easy to see who’s involved and adjust their split percentages in seconds.

When you select a track, the Collaborators widget displays a card for each person associated with it. Each card shows:

  • Avatar — their profile picture or a generated initial
  • Name and role — who they are and whether they’re the owner or a collaborator
  • Master split — their percentage of master recording rights
  • Publishing split — their percentage of publishing rights

The track owner always appears at the top of the list with 100% ownership unless you’ve already assigned splits. Collaborators you add appear below in the order they were added.

To bring someone into your project:

  1. Click Add Collaborator in the widget header
  2. Start typing their name or email in the dropdown that appears — the widget searches existing collaborators automatically
  3. Select their name from the suggestions
  4. Enter their Master split and Publishing split percentages
  5. Click Save

The widget validates that your splits don’t exceed 100%. If they do, you’ll see a warning message and the save button will be disabled until you adjust the numbers.

Click the Edit button on any collaborator card to adjust their split percentages. A form appears where you can:

  • Change the Master split percentage
  • Change the Publishing split percentage
  • Update the Role if needed

Changes take effect immediately — the widget updates right away and syncs with the server in the background. If the sync fails for any reason, the widget automatically rolls back to the previous values and shows you an error message.

Click the Remove button on a collaborator card to unlink them from the track. You’ll see a confirmation prompt, and once confirmed, the collaborator is removed from your track immediately.

The track owner’s record cannot be removed — only their split percentages can be edited.

When you select two or more tracks in the grid, the Collaborators widget switches to bulk mode. This lets you manage collaborators across your entire selection at once.

In bulk mode, you’ll notice a few differences:

  • Deduplicated list — if a collaborator appears on multiple selected tracks, they show up once with a badge indicating how many tracks they’re on
  • Track count badge — hover over the badge next to a collaborator’s name to see which tracks they’re assigned to
  • Bulk apply indicator — a small note at the top shows how changes will be applied (all selected tracks or only changed ones, depending on your settings)

When you add a collaborator in bulk mode, they’re added to all selected tracks simultaneously. You can then set their splits for each track individually or use the auto-allocate feature.

Editing a collaborator’s splits in bulk mode lets you choose whether to apply the change to all selected tracks or only to tracks where the value has changed. You can configure this behavior in your Settings under Bulk Apply Modes.

Below the collaborator list, you’ll find allocation tools to help distribute ownership fairly.

The widget displays a summary showing the total master and publishing splits across all collaborators. If the totals exceed 100%, you’ll see a warning in red. If they’re exactly 100%, a green checkmark appears.

Click Auto-Allocate to evenly distribute splits among all collaborators. The widget divides 100% equally by the number of collaborators and assigns those percentages to both master and publishing splits.

For example, if you have three collaborators, each receives 33.33% — which may total slightly over or under 100% due to rounding. You can always fine-tune the numbers manually afterward.

When you add a new collaborator, the widget suggests split values based on the remaining allocation available. If 60% of master rights are still unassigned, the default suggestion will be 60%.

The widget loads collaborator information directly from your track data, so it displays instantly without waiting for a network request. However, if you’ve made changes elsewhere (like in another browser tab), click the Refresh icon in the widget header to pull the latest information from the server.

  • Set splits early — getting ownership percentages settled at the beginning of a project prevents confusion later
  • Use consistent percentages — if the same collaborator has the same split across multiple tracks, bulk mode makes it easy to keep things consistent
  • Check the allocation summary — always verify your totals add up to 100% before sharing a track for release
  • Owner vs collaborator — the track creator is automatically set as owner, but you can change this by editing their role in the collaborator card
