Download & Install
Getting Producer Dashboard on your machine is a quick process that takes just a few minutes. Once installed, you’ll have a powerful hub for organizing tracks, managing collaborators, and keeping your music projects flowing from idea to release.
This guide walks you through everything you need to know about downloading and setting up the app.
System Requirements
Section titled “System Requirements”Before you download, make sure your computer can run Producer Dashboard smoothly. The app works on Windows and macOS, with the following minimum specifications:
Windows:
- Windows 10 or later
- 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
- 500 MB of available storage space
- Internet connection for Dropbox sync
macOS:
- macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel processor
- 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
- 500 MB of available storage space
- Internet connection for Dropbox sync
Downloading the App
Section titled “Downloading the App”From the Website
Section titled “From the Website”The simplest way to get Producer Dashboard is to download it directly from the official website:
- Visit the downloads page on the Producer Dashboard website
- Click the Download for [your operating system] button
- The installer file (.exe for Windows, .dmg for macOS) will save to your Downloads folder
From the Dashboard
Section titled “From the Dashboard”If you’re already using an older version of the app and want to update:
- Open Producer Dashboard
- Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the window
- Navigate to the About section
- If a newer version is available, you’ll see an Update Available button
- Click it to download the latest installer
Installing on Windows
Section titled “Installing on Windows”Once the installer downloads, follow these steps:
- Locate the
.exefile in your Downloads folder - Double-click the file to launch the installer
- If you see a Windows SmartScreen prompt, click Run anyway — the app is safe and verified
- Follow the on-screen instructions to choose your install location
- Click Install and wait for the process to complete
- Click Finish to close the installer
The app will create a desktop shortcut automatically. You can also find it in your Start menu under “Producer Dashboard.”
Installing on macOS
Section titled “Installing on macOS”For Mac users, the process is straightforward:
- Open the
.dmgfile from your Downloads folder - A window will appear with the Producer Dashboard icon and your Applications folder
- Drag the Producer Dashboard icon into the Applications folder
- Wait for the copy to finish
- Eject the DMG by clicking the eject button in the Finder sidebar
The first time you open the app, macOS may show a warning that the app is from an unidentified developer. To proceed:
- Go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy
- Click the lock icon and enter your password
- Under “Allow apps downloaded from,” click Open Anyway
- Return to the app and double-click it again
Launching for the First Time
Section titled “Launching for the First Time”When you open Producer Dashboard for the first time, you’ll see a welcome screen that guides you through initial setup:
- Connect your Dropbox account — this is where your music files live. Producer Dashboard syncs with your existing Dropbox structure, so there’s no need to move your files.
- Set your root folder — choose the Dropbox folder where you keep your music projects. The app will scan this location to build your track library.
- Create your profile — add your name and set preferences like your default workflow stages.
The setup wizard typically takes about two minutes. You can always adjust these settings later from the Settings panel.
Signing In
Section titled “Signing In”After installation, you’ll need to sign in to access your account:
- Launch Producer Dashboard
- Enter your email and password on the sign-in screen
- If you haven’t created an account yet, click Create Account to register
Once signed in, the app will begin syncing with your Dropbox. Depending on how many tracks you have, the initial sync might take a few minutes.
Offline Mode
Section titled “Offline Mode”Producer Dashboard works offline for most tasks. You can browse your track library, update stages, add notes, and manage collaborators even without an internet connection.
However, some features require connectivity:
- Uploading artwork — requires an active connection
- Sharing tracks — collaborators receive notifications when you’re online
- Dropbox sync — new files detected when you’re offline sync automatically once reconnected
The app clearly indicates when you’re offline with a subtle banner at the top of the window. Your changes queue up and sync the next time you connect.
Updating the App
Section titled “Updating the App”Producer Dashboard checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, you’ll see a notification when you launch the app.
To manually check for updates:
- Open Settings
- Click About
- Click Check for Updates
Updates download in the background, so you can keep working. The app will prompt you to restart when the update is ready to install.
Troubleshooting Installation
Section titled “Troubleshooting Installation”If you run into issues during installation, here are some common solutions:
Windows installer won’t start
- Right-click the
.exefile and select Run as administrator - Temporarily disable your antivirus software and try again
macOS won’t let me open the app
- Make sure you’re dragging to Applications, not just the DMG window
- Check System Preferences → Security & Privacy as described above
- Try control-clicking the app icon and selecting Open
The app won’t launch after installation
- Restart your computer and try again
- Check that your system meets the minimum requirements
- Contact support if the issue persists
