Creating Your Account

Welcome to Producer Dashboard! Before you can start organizing your tracks, managing collaborators, and keeping your workflow on track, you’ll need to create an account. This guide walks you through the sign-up process, explains the license agreement you’ll need to accept, and covers what to expect depending on whether you’re using the web browser or the desktop app.

Before getting started, make sure you have one of the following:

  • A valid email address (for email/password sign-up)
  • A Google account (for quick OAuth sign-in)
  • The Producer Dashboard desktop app installed on your computer

The sign-up process takes just a few minutes, and once you’re in, you’ll have access to all the features that help you manage your music production projects.

When you first visit Producer Dashboard in your web browser, you’ll land on the sign-in page. Here’s how to create your account:

  1. Click the “Sign Up” button at the bottom of the sign-in form.
  2. Choose your preferred sign-up method:
    • Email and password — enter your email address and create a strong password
    • Google — click the Google button to sign in with your existing Google account
  3. If using email/password, you’ll need to verify you’re human by completing a simple security check (this helps keep bots out).
  4. Once your account is created, you may be prompted to accept the License Agreement before proceeding.

If you’re using the Producer Dashboard desktop app, the sign-up process happens through your default web browser:

  1. Open the desktop app and click “Sign Up”.
  2. A browser window will open with the sign-up page.
  3. Complete the sign-up steps just like you would on the web.
  4. After confirming your account, you’ll see a success page that automatically sends your login credentials back to the desktop app.
  5. The app will restore and you’re ready to go.

Before you can access the full app, you’ll encounter the License Agreement screen. This isn’t just a formality — it’s an important step that protects both you and Producer Dashboard.

The license agreement explains the terms of using the app, including:

  • Your responsibilities for backing up your own data and project files
  • What Producer Dashboard does and doesn’t guarantee — the app is provided “as is”
  • Limitation of liability — Producer Dashboard isn’t responsible for lost data, missed deadlines, or lost income
  • Your indemnification obligations — you agree to hold Producer Dashboard harmless from claims arising from your use of the app
  • How the agreement can be updated — if terms change, you’ll be asked to accept them again

The agreement appears as a blocking modal — you won’t be able to access your dashboard or projects until you’ve accepted it. To proceed:

  1. Read through the agreement text carefully.
  2. Check the required certification boxes confirming you understand and agree to the terms.
  3. Click “I Agree” to continue.

If you decline, you’ll be signed out and returned to the sign-in page. You’ll need to accept the agreement on your next sign-in to access the app.

If Producer Dashboard updates its license agreement, you’ll be prompted to review and accept the new terms before you can continue using the app. This ensures you’re always informed about the current terms of use.

Once you’ve created your account and accepted the license agreement, you’ll be directed to either the onboarding flow (if this is your first time) or directly to your dashboard (if you’ve used the app before).

Onboarding will guide you through setting up your profile, understanding the main features, and importing your first tracks. Don’t worry — you can always revisit these steps later if you want to skip ahead.

If you signed up with email/password and didn’t receive a verification email, try the following:

  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address
  • Wait a few minutes — emails can sometimes take time to arrive

If the problem persists, use the “Forgot Password” link on the sign-in page to request a password reset, which will also verify your email address.

If Google sign-in isn’t working, ensure:

  • You’re using a browser that allows pop-ups (Producer Dashboard needs to open a small window for Google authentication)
  • Your browser allows cookies from the Google domains
  • You’re signed into the correct Google account if you have multiple

If you signed up in the browser but the desktop app isn’t connecting, try these steps:

  1. Make sure the desktop app is running and showing the “Waiting for authentication…” screen.
  2. Complete sign-up in your browser — the app should receive the confirmation automatically.
  3. If nothing happens after 30 seconds, look for a manual “Open App” button on the success page in your browser.
  4. Click that button to manually trigger the connection.
