Setting Up Your Public Page
Your public page is your professional home on the web — a permanent portfolio that showcases your work to potential clients and collaborators. Unlike share links (which are temporary and recipient-specific), your public page has its own permanent URL that you can include in your bio, email signature, or social media profiles.
When clients visit your page, they can browse your tracks, listen to audio previews, and reach out to you directly about licensing. Everything on the page pulls from your existing profile settings, so keeping your information up to date automatically updates your public page too.
Before You Begin: Connect Dropbox
Section titled “Before You Begin: Connect Dropbox”Your public page streams audio directly from your Dropbox account, so you need to have Dropbox connected before you can publish.
To connect Dropbox:
- Go to Settings and click on Integrations
- Find the Dropbox section and click Connect
- Follow the prompts to authorize Producer Dashboard
If Dropbox isn’t connected, you’ll see a warning message in the Public Page settings area. Publishing will remain disabled until you connect your account.
Setting Your Display Name
Section titled “Setting Your Display Name”Your display name becomes your public URL: client.producerdashboard.app/pages/your-name. Choose something memorable that reflects your brand — your artist name, producer alias, or real name all work well.
To set your display name:
- Go to Settings > Public Page
- Find the Display Name field and enter your chosen name
- Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed
- Click Check Availability to confirm it’s unique
Your display name must be between 3 and 50 characters. Once set, it’s permanent — changing it changes your public URL, so choose thoughtfully.
Customizing Your Page Appearance
Section titled “Customizing Your Page Appearance”The Public Page settings let you add visual flair to your portfolio without touching code.
Choosing an Accent Color
Section titled “Choosing an Accent Color”The accent color appears on interactive elements like buttons, links, and the waveform player. Pick something that matches your brand or personal style.
- In Settings > Public Page, locate the Accent Color picker
- Click the color swatch or enter a hex code directly
- The preview updates automatically so you can see how it looks
Popular choices include warm oranges, electric blues, and vibrant purples — whatever makes your page feel like you.
Adding a Banner Image
Section titled “Adding a Banner Image”A banner image sits at the top of your public page, giving visitors an immediate sense of your aesthetic.
- Click Upload Banner in the Public Page settings
- Select an image from your computer (JPEG or PNG recommended)
- Crop or adjust the image if needed, then confirm
The banner displays at a fixed height with the image centered, so avoid images with important content in the center. Wide landscape orientations work best.
Adding Sections to Your Page
Section titled “Adding Sections to Your Page”Your public page is organized into sections based on your buckets — the same projects you use to organize tracks in your library. Each bucket you add becomes a clickable section that visitors can browse.
Selecting Buckets
Section titled “Selecting Buckets”- In Settings > Public Page, click Manage Sections
- A modal opens showing all your buckets
- Check the boxes next to buckets you want to feature
- Empty buckets (with no tracks) show a warning and won’t display on your page
- Click Save when finished
The order of your sections matches the order you select them. Use the sort dropdown to arrange by track count (most populated first) or alphabetically.
Choosing a Display Style
Section titled “Choosing a Display Style”Each bucket section can display in one of two styles:
| Style | Best For |
|---|---|
| Grid | Compact overview — shows artwork thumbnails in a uniform grid |
| Cards | Detailed view — larger cards with more visual impact (Musicbed style) |
When using Cards view, you can also choose the card size: small, medium, or large. Larger cards show more artwork but fewer per row.
To change a section’s display style:
- Click the overflow menu (three dots) next to any section
- Select Grid or Cards
- If using cards, choose your preferred size
Featuring Collaborators
Section titled “Featuring Collaborators”Want to give credit where it’s due? The collaborators section highlights people you’ve worked with on your public page.
- In Public Page settings, click Manage Collaborators
- Select the collaborators you want to feature
- Toggle the Featured badge for people you want to highlight
- Drag to reorder if desired
Featured collaborators appear in a dedicated section at the top of your page with their name and avatar. All selected collaborators are listed below.
Previewing Your Page
Section titled “Previewing Your Page”Before going live, preview your page to see exactly what visitors will experience.
Click the Preview button in the upper right of the Public Page settings. This opens your page in a new tab, exactly as it will appear to the public — including your bio, social links, track sections, and audio player.
Review everything carefully. Check that:
- Your artist name and bio look correct
- Social links point to the right profiles
- All sections display with proper artwork
- Audio playback works for your tracks
Publishing Your Page
Section titled “Publishing Your Page”Once you’re satisfied with your preview, you’re ready to go live.
Click Publish in the Public Page settings. If all requirements are met (display name set, Dropbox connected, at least one bucket selected), your page goes live immediately.
Your public URL is now active. Share it anywhere:
- Social media bios
- Email signatures
- Music licensing platforms
- Business cards and press kits
Unpublishing
Section titled “Unpublishing”If you need to take your page down temporarily, click Unpublish in the settings. Your content is preserved and you can republish anytime without reconfiguration.
-
Update once, reflect everywhere — Since your public page pulls from your profile settings, updating your bio or avatar there automatically updates your public page too. No duplicate work.
-
Curate thoughtfully — You don’t need to feature every bucket. Pick the sections that best represent your current sound and style. A focused page is more impactful than an exhaustive one.
-
Keep Dropbox connected — If your Dropbox authorization expires, your audio playback will stop working. Periodically check that the connection remains active in Settings > Integrations.
-
Check your track uploads — Make sure bounce files are uploaded to Dropbox for any tracks you want visitors to preview. The play button only appears when a track has a bounce file available.
