Due Date Widget
The Due Date widget lives in the activity panel and gives you a quick way to set, view, and change when a track needs to be finished. Whether you’re working on a single song or managing a batch of tracks for a release deadline, this widget makes it easy to track your timelines without switching screens.
What the Widget Shows
Section titled “What the Widget Shows”When you select a track, the widget displays the current due date in the “Current Due Date” section at the top. The date appears with color-coded formatting that tells you at a glance how urgent the deadline is:
- Red text — the due date has passed and the track is overdue
- Yellow text — the due date is today or tomorrow
- Blue text — the due date is within the next week
- White text — the due date is more than a week away
If no due date has been set, you’ll see “No due date set” in muted text instead. When you have multiple tracks selected with different due dates, the widget displays “Mixed dates” to indicate that the selected tracks don’t share the same deadline.
Setting a Due Date
Section titled “Setting a Due Date”Below the current date display, you’ll find a calendar view showing four months at a time. Click any date to set it as the new due date for your selected track(s).
The calendar highlights:
- Today’s date with a blue border
- Selected date with a filled blue background
- Past dates are dimmed and cannot be selected (this prevents accidentally setting due dates that have already passed)
To navigate forward through future months, click the right arrow button at the top of the calendar. To go back toward the current month, click the left arrow. You cannot navigate to months before today.
Removing a Due Date
Section titled “Removing a Due Date”If you want to clear the due date entirely, click the “Remove” button next to the current date display. This removes the deadline from all selected tracks. The Remove button only appears when a due date is currently set.
Working with Multiple Tracks
Section titled “Working with Multiple Tracks”When you select two or more tracks in the grid, the Due Date widget adapts to handle bulk updates. The widget shows a note at the top indicating the current bulk apply mode, which controls how the due date is applied:
- Replace all selected tracks — sets the new date on every selected track, overwriting any existing dates
- Replace matching tracks only — only updates tracks that already share the same due date as the first selected track
If you need to change which mode is active, click the “Change in Settings” link to go to your preferences.
The calendar click updates all affected tracks at once. You’ll see a success notification confirming how many tracks were updated.
Understanding the Timeline Badges
Section titled “Understanding the Timeline Badges”The color coding on due dates helps you prioritize without having to do mental math. Here’s what each color means for your workflow:
| Badge Color | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Overdue | Prioritize immediately |
| Yellow | Today or Tomorrow | Finish very soon |
| Blue | Within 7 days | Plan to complete soon |
| White | More than a week away | Standard timeline |
These visual cues appear both in the widget and in other parts of the app where due dates are shown, like the overview widget and the track grid.
