Stage & Workflow Widget
The Stage & Workflow widget lives in the activity panel and helps you track where each track stands in your production pipeline. Think of it as your project’s progress tracker — when you select a track or group of tracks, this widget shows you the current stage and lets you move things along with a single click.
What the Widget Shows
Section titled “What the Widget Shows”When you select a track in your grid, the Stage widget displays a list of production stages. Each stage appears as a clickable button, making it easy to see at a glance where your track currently sits and where it needs to go next.
The stages available in your workspace are managed by your admin and might include options like Idea, Recording, Editing, Mixing, Mastering, Ready to Post, and Published. The exact stages depend on your team’s workflow setup.
Single Track Selection
Section titled “Single Track Selection”When you click on one track in your project grid, the Stage widget shows:
- Current stage highlighted — the stage your track is currently in appears with a blue background and subtle glow, making it easy to spot
- All available stages listed — every stage in your pipeline displays as a button below
- Quick stage changes — clicking any stage button immediately updates your track’s status
For example, if your track is at the “Idea” stage, that button will be blue while all other buttons remain neutral. When you’re ready to move the track forward, just click “Recording” or “Editing” and the widget updates instantly.
Multiple Track Selection
Section titled “Multiple Track Selection”When you select two or more tracks in the grid, the widget adapts to handle batch operations:
- Track count displayed — a small indicator shows how many tracks you’ve selected
- Mixed stage warning — if your selected tracks are at different stages, the widget notes “mixed stages” so you’re aware of the current state
- Bulk apply mode — a label appears showing how stage changes will apply to your selection (replace all, skip existing, etc.)
- Stage buttons remain active — clicking any stage applies the change to your selected tracks based on the current bulk apply mode
The bulk apply mode determines what happens when some tracks are already at a stage. You can configure this behavior in your settings to match your workflow preferences.
Changing a Stage
Section titled “Changing a Stage”Updating a track’s stage is straightforward:
- Select one or more tracks in your grid
- Locate the Stage widget in the activity panel
- Click the stage button you want to assign
- The UI updates immediately — you don’t need to wait for the change to save
The widget uses optimistic updates, meaning the interface reflects your change right away while the data saves in the background. If something goes wrong with the save, the widget will alert you and revert the display.
Bulk Apply Modes
Section titled “Bulk Apply Modes”When working with multiple tracks, your bulk apply mode controls how stage changes are applied:
- Replace all — every selected track gets the new stage, regardless of their current state
- Skip existing — tracks already at the target stage are left alone; only tracks in other stages are updated
- Replace only — only tracks currently at a specific stage are changed
You can view and adjust your current bulk apply mode directly in the widget. A small link takes you to your settings page if you want to change the default behavior permanently.
