Notification Settings
Notification settings give you control over how and when Producer Dashboard communicates with you. Whether you want real-time alerts when a collaborator comments on your track or a quiet evening without interruptions, these settings let you tune your experience to match your workflow.
Where to Find Notification Settings
Section titled “Where to Find Notification Settings”You’ll find your notification preferences in the Settings panel. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the app, then select Settings from the dropdown menu. In the left sidebar, look for the Notifications section.
The notification settings page shows all available notification types organized by category. Each type has its own toggle switch so you can enable or disable it independently.
Notification Categories
Section titled “Notification Categories”Notifications are grouped into categories that reflect different aspects of your music production workflow. This makes it easier to find the specific settings you’re looking for.
Collaboration Notifications
Section titled “Collaboration Notifications”These alerts keep you informed about activity involving your collaborators:
- New comments — notified when someone leaves feedback on your track or project
- Collaborator joins — informed when a new collaborator is added to one of your tracks
- Role changes — alerted when someone’s permissions are updated
- Collaborator leaves — notified if a collaborator removes themselves from a track
As a producer, staying on top of collaboration activity helps you maintain momentum. Comment notifications ensure you never miss feedback that might improve your mix.
Track Updates
Section titled “Track Updates”These notifications report changes to your tracks and projects:
- Stage changes — informed when a track moves to a new workflow stage (e.g., from Editing to Ready to Post)
- Due date reminders — alerted before a track’s deadline
- Artwork uploads — notified when new cover art is added
- Metadata updates — alerted to changes in track details like title, genre, or credits
Track updates are especially useful when you’re juggling multiple projects. A quick reminder about an approaching deadline can be the difference between shipping on time and missing a release window.
System Notifications
Section titled “System Notifications”These cover account and platform-level events:
- Account changes — informed about updates to your profile or security settings
- Export completion — alerted when a data export or track metadata file is ready for download
- Storage alerts — notified when you’re approaching your storage limit
- Feature announcements — occasional updates about new app features
System notifications are typically fewer but more important. You may want to keep these enabled even if you mute other categories.
Delivery Preferences
Section titled “Delivery Preferences”Beyond choosing which notifications to receive, you can also control how they’re delivered.
Delivery Frequency
Section titled “Delivery Frequency”Choose how often you’d like to receive updates:
- Real-time — notifications appear immediately as events happen
- Batched — updates are grouped and delivered once per hour or once daily
- Digest — a single daily summary sent at a time you specify
If you’re in the middle of a mixing session, real-time notifications can be distracting. Switching to batched delivery lets you review updates during a break without breaking your creative flow.
Sound and Visual Alerts
Section titled “Sound and Visual Alerts”Control whether notifications make noise or show visual pop-ups:
- Play sound — toggle audio alerts on or off
- Show in-app badge — displays an unread count on the app icon
- Desktop notifications — shows alerts outside the app window
Many producers prefer keeping sounds off during active work. You can still check your notification history in the Activity Feed when you’re ready for a break.
Channel Preferences
Section titled “Channel Preferences”Some notifications can be sent to multiple channels. You might receive critical alerts via desktop while less urgent ones appear only in the app.
For each notification type, you can select which channels are active:
- In-app — appears in the notification panel within Producer Dashboard
- Desktop — shows as a system notification (these require your browser or OS to permit them)
- Email — sent to the address associated with your account
Managing Notification Overload
Section titled “Managing Notification Overload”When you’re working on multiple tracks with several collaborators, notification volume can add up quickly. Here are some strategies to keep things manageable.
Disable notifications for projects on hold. If a project is paused, mute its notifications temporarily. You can re-enable them when you’re ready to pick it back up.
Use batched delivery during creative hours. Reserve real-time alerts for times when you’re actively managing your workflow, not deep in a recording session.
Review your settings weekly. As projects move through different stages, your notification needs change. A quick weekly check helps ensure you’re only getting the alerts that actually matter.
Combine with the Activity Feed. The Activity Feed provides a searchable history of all your notifications. Rather than acting on every alert as it arrives, batch your responses by checking the feed periodically.
Saving Your Preferences
Section titled “Saving Your Preferences”When you make changes to your notification settings, they’re saved automatically. Look for a confirmation message at the top of the settings panel indicating your preferences have been updated.
If you’re switching between workstations, your notification preferences sync across devices. Settings configured on your desktop carry over when you log in on a laptop.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Not receiving notifications at all? Check that notifications are enabled in your browser or operating system settings. Browser permissions often block desktop notifications by default.
Getting too many emails? Reduce email notification frequency or disable email for specific categories in your notification settings. The Activity Feed inside the app always has the full history.
Missed an important alert? Open the Activity Feed to review past notifications. Every event is logged there with a timestamp, so you won’t miss critical updates even if your alerts were temporarily disabled.
- Set up separate notification preferences for different projects based on their urgency. High-priority release projects can have real-time alerts while experimental tracks stay quiet.
- During mixing or mastering sessions, enable “Do Not Disturb” mode in your operating system alongside switching Producer Dashboard to batched delivery.
- Review your notification history in the Activity Feed to identify which alerts are actually useful versus which ones create noise. Adjust accordingly.
