Smart Notifications
Smart Notifications keep you informed about what’s happening with your tracks and collaborations. Rather than overwhelming you with every single update, the system learns what matters and delivers timely, actionable alerts. When someone shares a track with you, a deadline approaches, or a collaborator makes an update, you’ll know right away.
The notification system lives in the header of Producer Dashboard. Look for the bell icon — it shows a badge when you have unread notifications waiting.
Opening the Notifications Panel
Section titled “Opening the Notifications Panel”Click the bell icon in the header to open your notifications panel. The panel slides down and shows your most recent activity, starting with the newest items at the top.
Click anywhere outside the panel to close it, or click the bell again.
Loading Notifications
Section titled “Loading Notifications”When you open the panel, it automatically fetches your recent notifications. You’ll see up to 20 of the latest notifications. The panel remembers your unread count and updates the badge in the header.
Understanding Notification Types
Section titled “Understanding Notification Types”Each notification has an icon that tells you what kind of update it is at a glance. The icon color also signals urgency.
Deadline Alerts
Section titled “Deadline Alerts”Deadline notifications appear when track due dates are approaching. You’ll see a calendar icon with this notification type.
These are high priority by default. If a track you own is due within 24 hours, the notification appears with a visual indicator that demands attention.
Example: “Bass Drop Idea due tomorrow” — this notification appears when your mixdown session has a deadline approaching.
Workflow Updates
Section titled “Workflow Updates”Workflow notifications track stage changes and workflow progress. A checklist icon marks these updates.
These notify you when tracks move between stages — from Idea to Editing, from Editing to Ready to Post, and so on. You’ll also get notified when collaborators change a track’s workflow status.
Example: “Sunset Drive moved to Ready to Post” — this tells you a collaborator finished their work and the track is ready for final review.
Collaboration Activity
Section titled “Collaboration Activity”Collaboration notifications appear when someone shares a track with you, accepts an invite, or leaves a comment. A conversation icon distinguishes these.
When you receive a collaboration invite, the notification includes an Accept button so you can join without navigating away.
Example: “Alex Chen invited you to collaborate on Midnight Session” — with an Accept Invite button right in the notification.
Reminders
Section titled “Reminders”Reminders help you stay on track with tasks and follow-ups. A clock icon identifies these notifications.
Example: “Follow up on The Weekender — no activity in 3 days.”
System Alerts
Section titled “System Alerts”System notifications cover updates, support responses, and general app information. An information icon marks these.
Some system notifications include feedback buttons — for example, when a support ticket gets resolved, you can indicate whether the issue was fixed.
Notification Components
Section titled “Notification Components”Every notification in the panel shares a common layout:
- Icon — type-specific, color-coded by urgency
- Title — a brief headline (track name, collaborator name, or action type)
- Message — one or two sentences of context
- Timestamp — shows how long ago (“5m ago”, “2h ago”, “Just now”)
- Actions — contextual buttons (Accept, Fixed, Not Fixed) appear when relevant
Unread notifications have a subtle background highlight to distinguish them from read items. High-priority notifications use a more prominent indicator.
Taking Action on Notifications
Section titled “Taking Action on Notifications”You can interact with notifications directly from the panel — no need to navigate away unless you want more details.
Marking as Read
Section titled “Marking as Read”Click any notification to mark it as read and open the relevant track. The panel closes and you land on that track’s detail view.
For collaboration invites, click the Accept button to join the project. The notification updates to show your response.
For support ticket resolutions, click one of the feedback buttons: Fixed, Not Fixed, or Fix not needed. This helps the support team understand whether issues were properly resolved.
Marking All as Read
Section titled “Marking All as Read”The header of the notification panel has a checkmark button. Click it to mark every notification as read at once. This clears your unread badge.
Dismissing Notifications
Section titled “Dismissing Notifications”Hover over any notification to reveal a small X button in the corner. Click it to dismiss that notification. Dismissed notifications disappear from the list but remain in your notification history.
Priority and Visual Indicators
Section titled “Priority and Visual Indicators”Not all notifications are equally urgent. The system distinguishes between regular updates and high-priority alerts:
High priority notifications appear when:
- A deadline is within 24 hours
- An unresolved support issue requires your attention
- A collaboration invite needs immediate response
These notifications have a visual accent — often a colored border or background — that sets them apart from standard updates. Your unread badge reflects the count of high-priority items plus regular unread items.
Time Display
Section titled “Time Display”Notifications show relative timestamps to give you context:
- Just now — within the last minute
- Xm ago — minutes since it happened (up to 59)
- Xh ago — hours since it happened (up to 23)
- Xd ago — days since it happened (up to 6)
- Date — older than a week, shown as a calendar date
This helps you understand freshness at a glance without needing exact timestamps.
