Todo Properties

When you create a todo, it comes with a set of properties that define what it is, who it’s for, and when it needs to be done. Understanding these properties helps you keep your task list organized and ensures nothing falls through the cracks during production.

Todo properties are displayed in the activity panel’s Todos widget. Each todo card shows its key details at a glance, and you can expand any todo to see or edit all its properties.

Select a track in the grid, then open the activity panel. The Todos widget displays all todos associated with that track.

Each todo appears as a compact card showing:

  • The todo content (truncated if long)
  • Completion status (checkbox)
  • Due date (if set)
  • Assignee name (if not assigned to you)

Click on any todo card to expand it and see all available properties. This is where you can view the full details and make changes.

The content field holds the actual task description. This is the only required field when creating a todo. Be specific — instead of “fix mix,” try “boost low-mids around 300Hz on lead vocal bus.”

The checkbox marks whether the task is done. Unchecking a completed todo restores it to your active list. This gives you a quick way to archive tasks without losing the record of what was done.

By default, todos are assigned to whoever creates them. You can reassign a todo to any collaborator on the track by selecting their name from the dropdown.

For shared tracks, you can only assign todos to people who have active access — either as the track owner or as a current collaborator in the project.

Set a deadline to keep your production on schedule. Click the date field and pick a day from the calendar. The due date appears on the todo card so you can see upcoming tasks at a glance.

Each todo can be tagged with a workflow stage — Idea, Editing, Ready to Post, or Published. This helps you sort tasks by where they fit in your release process. A todo about arranging sits naturally under Idea, while one about export settings belongs with Ready to Post.

If you’re leaving a todo at a specific moment in the track, you can attach a timecode. This links the task to a precise point in the audio, making it easy to jump back to the exact spot when you’re ready to address it.

Every todo belongs to a specific track. When you create a todo from the activity panel, it’s automatically linked to the selected track. The track name appears on the todo card so you know which project the task belongs to.

Todos can be connected to an existing comment on the track. This is useful when a comment spawns a follow-up task — the todo keeps the thread organized and ensures the original feedback doesn’t get lost. If a comment was linked but the connection fails, the todo still saves; only the link is affected.

Open the Todos widget and click on the todo you want to edit. In the expanded view, any editable field becomes interactive:

  • Change the content by clicking the text and typing
  • Toggle the completion checkbox when the task is done
  • Change the assignee using the dropdown menu
  • Pick a new due date from the calendar
  • Adjust the workflow stage to match your current focus
  • Add or remove a timecode if the moment changes

Changes save automatically when you click away from a field or press Enter.

Not everyone can modify every todo. The rules work like this:

  • You created it — you can edit all properties
  • Someone else created it — you can only mark it complete or change the workflow stage
  • Track ownership and collaboration — if you don’t own the track and aren’t an active collaborator, you can’t create todos on it at all

These permissions keep task management clean on shared projects. Everyone can contribute to the todo list, but the person who created a task has primary control over its details.
