Billing & Subscription
The Billing & Subscription section in your settings gives you a complete picture of your current plan, how much of your resources you’ve used, and all the tools you need to manage your subscription. Whether you’re on the Free plan or a lifetime member, everything you need for billing lives right here.
Viewing Your Current Plan
Section titled “Viewing Your Current Plan”When you open the Billing & Subscription section, the first thing you see is your current plan displayed at the top of the page. This shows you at a glance which tier you’re on and what you’re paying.
You’ll see your plan name with a status badge next to it. The badge tells you whether your subscription is active, on trial, or past due. If you’re on a paid plan, the price displays below your plan name—showing either a monthly rate, yearly rate (with the monthly equivalent broken down), or a one-time lifetime fee.
For Free plan users, this area displays “Free forever • 20 tracks included” so you always know what you’re working with.
Below the plan details, you’ll see action buttons that change based on your current tier. Free and Starter users see an Upgrade button to explore higher plans. Paid subscribers see a Manage Billing button that opens the Stripe billing portal.
Checking Your Usage
Section titled “Checking Your Usage”Below your plan information, a usage panel shows how many tracks and collaborators you’re currently using. This helps you understand whether you’re approaching any limits before you hit them.
Track Usage
Section titled “Track Usage”A progress bar displays your track count against your plan’s limit. The Free plan allows 20 tracks, while paid plans offer higher limits or unlimited tracks depending on your tier.
The bar changes color based on your usage:
- Blue means you’re well within your limit
- Red means you’re near your limit or at capacity
- Green means you have unlimited tracks (Pro or Lifetime plans)
If you see red, it’s time to consider upgrading or archiving old projects to free up space.
Collaborator Usage
Section titled “Collaborator Usage”Your collaborator count displays below your track usage. This shows how many people you’ve invited to collaborate on your tracks.
- Free plan users see “0 (Not available on Free plan)”
- Starter plans show a specific limit (e.g., “3 / 5”)
- Pro and Lifetime plans offer unlimited collaborators
Upgrading Your Plan
Section titled “Upgrading Your Plan”Ready to unlock more features? Click the Upgrade button to see available plans. A modal appears with your options, letting you select a plan and proceed to checkout.
When you select a plan, you’ll be redirected to a secure Stripe checkout page where you can:
- Review the plan details and pricing
- Enter your payment information
- Apply any promo codes you have
- Complete your purchase
After successful payment, the app automatically detects the update and refreshes your plan details. You’ll see a confirmation message and your new features become available immediately.
If you cancel during checkout, no charges are made and you’ll see a simple notification that your payment was canceled.
Managing Your Billing
Section titled “Managing Your Billing”Paid subscribers can manage their subscription details through the Manage Billing button, which opens the Stripe billing portal in your default browser.
From the billing portal, you can:
- Update your payment method — swap out an expired card or switch to a different payment method
- Download invoices — access receipts for tax purposes or expense tracking
- View billing address — update where receipts are sent
- Cancel your subscription — end your subscription at the current period’s end
Payment Methods
Section titled “Payment Methods”If you’ve added a payment method, you see the card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) and the last four digits displayed in your settings. This makes it easy to verify you’re using the right card without logging into Stripe.
Understanding Renewal Information
Section titled “Understanding Renewal Information”When your subscription is active, renewal details appear below your plan information. This tells you when your next billing date is.
If you’ve chosen to cancel but let your subscription continue until the end of the billing period, a warning message appears instead: “⚠️ Your subscription will end on [date].”
You can reactivate a canceled subscription by clicking the Reactivate link that appears in this warning. Reactivating restores full access immediately with no gap in service.
Viewing Billing History
Section titled “Viewing Billing History”Scroll down to find your complete billing history. This table shows every invoice generated for your account, including:
- Date — when the charge occurred
- Description — what the charge was for (typically your plan name)
- Amount — the charge total
- Status — whether payment succeeded or failed
- Receipt — a download link for the PDF invoice
You can download any invoice as a PDF for your records. This is especially useful during tax season or when you need to submit expenses for a studio budget.
What Happens If Payment Fails?
Section titled “What Happens If Payment Fails?”If a payment fails, your subscription status updates to show “Past Due” in the status badge. Your access typically continues for a grace period, but it’s important to update your payment method quickly to avoid service interruption.
When payment succeeds again, the status automatically updates back to “Active” and you won’t lose any of your data or settings.
Plan Limits and Capabilities
Section titled “Plan Limits and Capabilities”Understanding what each plan offers helps you decide whether an upgrade makes sense:
| Plan | Tracks | Collaborators | Key Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 20 | None | Basic project management |
| Starter | Higher limit | Limited | Collaboration starts here |
| Pro | High or unlimited | Unlimited | Full access to all features |
| Lifetime | Unlimited | Unlimited | One-time payment, yours forever |
The exact numbers for Starter and Pro limits depend on current pricing. Check the upgrade modal for the most up-to-date limits.
