Profile & Avatar

Your profile is how collaborators, labels, and fans recognize you across Producer Dashboard. Setting up your profile with a clear photo and concise bio helps you appear professional and makes it easy for others to understand who you are and what you do.

This page covers everything you need to know about managing your profile information and profile picture.

Your profile consists of three main elements:

  • Display name — the name that appears across the app and on your public page
  • Bio — a short description that tells visitors who you are and what you do
  • Avatar — your profile picture that appears next to your name throughout the app

Each of these is editable directly from the Profile & Avatar section in your Settings.

Your display name appears in the header, on your tracks, and in any collaborative projects you’re involved in. A clear, consistent name helps collaborators identify you quickly.

To update your name:

  1. Open Settings from the sidebar menu
  2. Click Profile & Avatar in the navigation
  3. Locate the Name field in the profile form
  4. Enter your desired display name
  5. Click Save Profile at the bottom of the section

Your name must be at least 2 characters long. There’s no maximum length, but shorter names tend to display better in the app’s compact interface.

The bio field gives you space to describe yourself as an artist. This text appears on your public profile page and helps visitors understand your background, style, and achievements at a glance.

Character limit: 500 characters

The app displays a live character counter below the bio field so you can track your length as you type.

Consider including:

  • Your genre or style (e.g., “Lo-fi hip hop producer from Chicago”)
  • Notable releases, placements, or collaborations
  • Your experience level or background
  • What you’re currently working on or seeking
  • Lead with the most important information — place your genre and location near the beginning since these are often what collaborators are looking for first
  • Be specific — instead of “I make music,” mention what kind of music and what makes your approach unique
  • Keep it scannable — short sentences and simple language work better than dense paragraphs
  • Update regularly — add new achievements or recent releases as they happen

Your avatar appears next to your name throughout the app — in the header, on track collaborators lists, and on your public profile. A recognizable photo or logo helps people identify you quickly.

You can upload images in the following formats:

  • JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg)
  • PNG (.png)
  • WebP (.webp)
  • Maximum file size: 5 MB
  • Recommended size: At least 400×400 pixels for optimal display quality
  1. Navigate to SettingsProfile & Avatar
  2. Find the avatar preview area at the top of the page
  3. Click the Upload Avatar button (or the current avatar if one exists)
  4. Select your image file from your computer
  5. Wait for the upload to complete — the preview updates automatically

The preview updates instantly so you can see how your avatar will look before saving.

If you want to start fresh, click the Remove option below the current avatar. This clears your profile picture and displays your initials instead.

Once saved, your profile information appears in several places:

  • App header — your avatar and name appear in the top navigation bar
  • Track collaborators — when you’re added to a project, your avatar and name show on the track card
  • Public profile page — if enabled, visitors to your public page see your name, avatar, and bio
  • Notifications — your avatar appears in notification alerts and mentions

Keeping this information current ensures you’re always presenting your best self to collaborators and industry contacts.

  • Use a high-quality image for your avatar — blurry or pixelated photos can make your profile look unpolished
  • Square images work best — the app crops avatars to a circle, so images with the subject centered work better than wide or off-center shots
  • Save changes before leaving the page — remember to click Save Profile to apply your updates
  • Check your public page — after updating your profile, view your public page to see how it appears to visitors
