Connected Accounts

Connected accounts let you tie your existing external services directly into Producer Dashboard. Instead of re-entering credentials or juggling multiple logins, you can access Google, Dropbox, and Stripe right from your settings. This integration saves time and keeps your workflow running smoothly.

When you connect an external service, Producer Dashboard creates a secure link between your account and that service. This means you can:

  • Sign in faster with Google authentication
  • Serve audio files through share links from your Dropbox storage
  • Manage payments and payouts through your linked Stripe account

All connections are managed through OAuth, the industry-standard protocol for secure authorization. Your credentials are never stored on our servers — only the secure tokens that allow the apps to communicate.

Linking your Google account lets you sign in using your existing Google credentials instead of a separate email and password. This is a convenience feature for authentication only.

Connecting Dropbox lets Producer Dashboard serve your audio files through share links. When you create a share link for a playlist, the files are streamed and downloaded directly from your Dropbox storage — you never have to upload files to a separate server.

Dropbox is used for sharing only. Producer Dashboard does not browse your Dropbox folders or import files from Dropbox into your workspace. Your files stay in Dropbox; the connection is used to generate secure temporary links when recipients access your share pages.

Check out Connecting Dropbox for setup instructions.

If you sell beats, licenses, or other music services directly, linking Stripe lets you accept payments through Producer Dashboard. When customers purchase from your storefront, the transactions process through your connected Stripe account and funds deposit directly into your bank account.

The Stripe connection also unlocks analytics in your dashboard. You can view transaction history, revenue reports, and payout schedules without logging into the Stripe dashboard separately.

The linking process is straightforward. Each service has a Connect button in the Connected Accounts section of your settings.

To link an account:

  1. Go to Settings from the main menu
  2. Select Connected Accounts from the sidebar
  3. Find the service you want to connect
  4. Click the Connect button
  5. Sign in to that service in the popup window
  6. Grant the requested permissions
  7. Click Allow to complete the link

After linking, the button changes to show a green checkmark and the text Connected. Your account details, such as your email address or display name, appear below the button to confirm the link is active.

If you no longer need a connection, you can remove it at any time. Unlinking does not delete any data stored in either service — it only removes the connection between them.

To unlink an account:

  1. Go to SettingsConnected Accounts
  2. Find the connected service you want to remove
  3. Click the Disconnect button
  4. Confirm the action in the popup dialog

The link is immediately severed. You can reconnect later if needed, though you may need to re-grant permissions.

If you change the password on your Google, Dropbox, or Stripe account, the connection may become invalid. When this happens, you will see a warning icon next to the connected account.

To fix this:

  1. Click the Reconnect button that appears
  2. Sign in again with your updated credentials
  3. Re-authorize Producer Dashboard

After reconnecting, the warning disappears and your account status returns to normal.

The Connected Accounts page uses visual indicators to show the status of each link:

StatusMeaning
Green checkmarkAccount is linked and working
Orange warning iconConnection needs attention (password change, expired token)
Gray disconnectedNo account linked

If you see a warning icon, click the account row to see details about what needs to be fixed. Most issues resolve with a quick reconnect.

Producer Dashboard takes security seriously. Here is what you should know:

  • Read-only access — Unless you explicitly grant write permissions, connected accounts only allow reading data
  • Token-based authentication — Your actual passwords are never stored or transmitted
  • Permission scope — Each service only receives the minimum permissions needed for its features
  • Revocable access — You can revoke access at any time from either Producer Dashboard or the external service

You can review and manage connected apps directly from your Google account settings, Dropbox security page, or Stripe dashboard at any time.

If the OAuth popup does not appear, check your browser’s popup blocker. Allow popups from Producer Dashboard’s domain, then try connecting again.

Some services require you to approve access on their website if you have organizational restrictions. Contact your Dropbox team admin or Google Workspace administrator if you see permission denied messages.

If a connection seems unstable, try unlinking and reconnecting the account. Ensure you are using a stable internet connection during the OAuth process.
