Todos in Your Workflow
Todos help you stay on top of everything that needs to happen before your track is ready. Whether it’s a reminder to fix a bass drop, a note to send stems to a collaborator, or a task to finalize the mix, you can create todos right from your track’s activity panel and track them through your workflow stages.
What Are Workflow Todos?
Section titled “What Are Workflow Todos?”Workflow todos are actionable tasks you can attach to any of your tracks. Unlike comments, which are tied to specific moments in the timeline, todos represent checklist items that move through your production pipeline. Each todo can be marked complete, assigned to collaborators, and linked to particular workflow stages.
Think of them as your production to-do list — but embedded directly in your tracks so nothing gets lost in a separate app or scattered notes.
Creating Todos
Section titled “Creating Todos”When you’re working on a track, you can add a todo to capture a task that needs attention. The most important field is the content — a clear description of what needs to be done. Keep it concise but specific enough that you’ll know exactly what you meant when you come back to it later.
When creating a todo, you can optionally:
- Assign it to someone — If you’re working with collaborators on a shared track, you can assign tasks to them directly. They’ll see the todo when they open the track.
- Link to a comment — If the todo relates to a specific timestamp or discussion, you can connect it to an existing comment so the context stays together.
- Set a due date — Add a deadline to keep yourself accountable, especially for tasks tied to release schedules.
- Attach a timecode — Reference a specific moment in the track if the task is tied to a particular section.
You can create todos from the activity panel while browsing your track grid or while working inside a track. On shared tracks, collaborators with an active membership can also create todos, making it easy to delegate tasks within your team.
Viewing Your Todos
Section titled “Viewing Your Todos”All your todos appear in the activity panel under the Todos section. They display in reverse chronological order, so the most recent tasks appear at the top. Each todo shows the content, the assigned person (if any), and whether it’s completed.
If you have many todos, you can quickly see which ones belong to each track by checking the track name associated with each item. This helps you understand context without opening every track individually.
Managing Todo Status
Section titled “Managing Todo Status”As you work through your tasks, you’ll update your todos to reflect your progress. The main actions you can take are:
- Marking complete — When a task is done, click the checkbox or toggle to mark it complete. Completed todos still appear in the list so you have a record of what was accomplished.
- Editing content — If the task description changes or you need more detail, you can update the todo text at any time.
- Reassigning — If a task needs to go to a different person, you can change the assignment while the todo remains in place.
- Updating due dates — Move the deadline if priorities shift or timelines change.
- Changing workflow stage — If a task becomes relevant to a different stage of production, you can update its workflow field to reflect that.
You can only edit or delete todos that you created. This keeps the task list clean and prevents accidental changes from other users.
Deleting Todos
Section titled “Deleting Todos”When a todo is no longer relevant — perhaps the task became unnecessary or was completed outside the app — you can delete it. Navigate to the todo in your activity panel, find the delete option, and confirm the removal.
Deleted todos are permanently removed and cannot be recovered, so make sure the task is genuinely no longer needed before deleting it.
Todos on Shared Tracks
Section titled “Todos on Shared Tracks”If you’re collaborating on a track with other producers, you can all create and manage todos together. Anyone with an active membership on the track can:
- Create new todos
- View existing todos
- Mark their own assigned todos complete
- Edit or delete todos they created
This shared task system keeps everyone aligned on what needs to happen before the track is ready for its next stage. Collaborators can see at a glance what tasks are pending, who’s responsible for what, and when things are due.
-
Be specific in your todo content — Instead of “fix mix,” try “boost low-mids around 300Hz in the lead synth.” Specific descriptions save you confusion later.
-
Assign todos immediately — If a task belongs to a specific collaborator, assign it right when you create it. They’ll get notified and won’t miss it.
-
Link todos to comments for context — When a task stems from a discussion, connect the todo to the relevant comment so you can quickly jump back to the conversation.
-
Review todos before moving to the next stage — Before advancing a track’s workflow stage, check its todo list to make sure all critical tasks are complete.
-
Use due dates for release-bound work — If you’re working toward a release date, set due dates on todos to create visible deadlines that keep the team on track.
