The Share Page

When you share a playlist or selection of tracks from Producer Dashboard, visitors land on a dedicated share page that presents your music in a clean, public-facing view. This page is designed to give listeners everything they need to preview your work and download files if you’ve allowed it — without requiring them to have a Producer Dashboard account.

When someone opens your share link, they arrive at a page that showcases your shared tracks with your artist branding front and center. The share page includes your profile picture and header background, so it feels like an extension of your online presence rather than a generic file transfer.

The page displays each track with its artwork, title, BPM, and key — the essential details producers and artists look for when evaluating a song. If you’ve set up a public profile, visitors can also learn more about you and browse your other available content.

The layout adapts to the number of tracks you’re sharing. A single track gets a prominent featured presentation with larger artwork and detailed information. Multiple tracks appear in a scrollable list or grid, making it easy to browse through an entire playlist or collection.

Visitors can preview each track directly on the share page. The audio player is embedded with each track, allowing listeners to hit play without downloading anything. This is particularly useful when sharing work-in-progress mixes or demos where you want feedback before finalizing bounces.

The player typically pulls from the highest-quality available file — your master bounce, then the regular bounce, then any other allowed format. This ensures visitors hear the best version of your track without you needing to configure anything special.

Depending on the permissions you set when creating the share link, visitors may be able to download individual track files or entire folders. The share page shows available download options clearly:

  • Per-file downloads — visitors can download specific formats like WAV, stems, or project files for each track
  • Folder downloads — for larger packages like full stem collections, visitors can download everything as a ZIP file
  • No downloads — if you’ve disabled downloads, visitors can only stream previews

When downloads are enabled, the share page displays download buttons and shows which file types are available. This gives you fine-grained control — you might allow WAV downloads but keep project files private until a collaboration is finalized.

Every time a visitor downloads a file from your share page, Producer Dashboard records that event. You can see how many times each track has been downloaded, which helps you understand which songs generate the most interest.

This tracking works in two ways:

  • Aggregate counts — the total download count for the entire share page
  • Per-track breakdowns — which specific files were downloaded and how many times

This data appears in your dashboard when you view the share link’s details. It’s helpful for gauging interest in different tracks and understanding which songs people are actually engaging with versus just previewing.

When visitors view your share page, they can see the collaborators listed on each track. This builds transparency — anyone checking out your work knows who contributed to it.

Collaborator avatars and names appear alongside the track information, making it easy for listeners to discover other artists or producers involved in a project. This is especially useful for co-production credits or vocal feature arrangements.

Share links can be set to expire after a certain number of days, or they can remain active indefinitely. When you create a share, you choose the expiration period based on your needs:

  • Temporary shares — useful for time-sensitive feedback like sending a mix to a client before a deadline
  • Permanent shares — ideal for portfolio pieces or ongoing playlist links you want to keep active

If a share expires, visitors see a message indicating the link is no longer valid. You can always create a new share link for the same tracks if needed.

Producer Dashboard uses Dropbox to store and serve your shared files. When you create a share link, the system generates temporary download URLs through your connected Dropbox account. This means:

  • Files stay in your Dropbox — nothing gets uploaded to separate servers
  • Secure temporary access — download links expire after a few hours, preventing permanent unauthorized access
  • Direct transfers — visitors download straight from Dropbox, so file quality remains intact

If your Dropbox connection is interrupted or your token expires, visitors won’t be able to access downloads until you reconnect. You’ll see a warning in your dashboard if this happens.

The share page automatically pulls your profile branding — your avatar, header image, and any theme settings you’ve configured. This creates a consistent experience between your Producer Dashboard and the share pages you distribute.

You control what content appears on your public profile, but share pages can also link back to it, giving visitors a way to discover more of your work.

  • Send shares before final deadlines — set expiration dates that give collaborators enough time to review without leaving permanent links active
  • Check download counts after sending to clients — seeing which tracks they actually downloaded tells you where their interest focused
  • Use shares for A&R submissions — compile your best five to ten tracks and share them as a curated playlist rather than individual links
  • Keep Dropbox connected — an expired Dropbox token breaks all your share download links until you reconnect
